Custom earplugs are  molded from an exact impression of your ear canal, so they seal and sit more comfortably than store-bought options. Hearing aids aren’t one product — they’re a range of shapes matched to hearing loss level, ear anatomy, and lifestyle:

• Full-shell and half-shell (ITE) –

larger custom shells for more severe hearing loss, easier to handle for patients with dexterity issues

• In-the-canal (ITC) –

In-the-canal (ITC) – a smaller custom option that sits mostly hidden

• Completely-in-canal (CIC) and invisible-in-canal (IIC) –

Completely-in-canal (CIC) and invisible-in-canal (IIC) – the most discreet custom styles, molded deep enough that they’re barely visible

For receiver-in-the-canal (RIC) and behind-the-ear (BTE) aids, we also create custom ear molds — the piece that connects the device to your ear canal — so the fit is snug and the aid stays put through a full day of wear, exercise, or a windy Michigan afternoon.

Not everyone walking through our door needs a hearing aid. A lot of patients just need protection that fits — and “protection” looks different depending on your lifestyle:

Swim plugs :

Swim plugs create a tighter seal against water than drugstore versions, which matters most for anyone with a perforated eardrum, PE tubes, or a history of ear infections after swimming.

Custom noise :

Custom noise plugs are built for job sites, shooting ranges, and anywhere sustained loud sound is a risk. Depending on the filter, they can reduce sound levels by up to 29 dB while still letting you hear speech and instructions clearly.

Musician’s earplugs :

Musician’s earplugs use flat-attenuation filters, so the volume drops but the sound quality doesn’t. You still hear the mix the way it’s meant to sound — just at a level that won’t cost you your hearing by your third tour.

What the Fitting Process Looks Like

Every custom piece starts the same way: the audiologist takes a detailed impression of your ear canal — not a generic mold, not a guess. That impression goes to a lab, and the finished product comes back shaped to your ear specifically.
